1. I feel that in the start of the subject, i think that I know a lot of English, but I learned a lot, I think that my skills in English are the part of speaking and the listening.
ResponderEliminar2. I think that my weakness is the grammar, because I feel that the things that I write are bad or had some mistakes, I think that the best way to improve this, is to do exercises that make me think and that teach me new words and the right way to apply that in my life.
3. I understand the new grammatical structures that I learn in the course, I don’t use them a lot, because I don’t have the need to do that, but I like to practice some days, I do the exercises that are in the blog to improve mi knowledge
4. I don’t think that this improved, because before I start this course, I learn English watching tv shows, movies and music, all in English and in this way I feel that I understand some words that before I didn’t know but I feel good since the beginning of the course in this.
5. I find that in some cases I need to draw something or do some signal because I didn’t know the word or I don’t know in the moment the meaning of that, after this I try to read some words from dictionaries and learn the context and the meaning.
6. I feel that I read faster than before, because in some times, in my mind I translate word by word and it was too slow, in the course I try to improve that and I feel happy to say that I made it.
7. My writing in some things improved, but in other cases I don’t feel that, I feel lost in the verb times, and I try to translate some stories that I write in Spanish and think that this are too Spanglish because I don’t know how to put this in context. I correct the excercises but I don’t know if I upload to the blog.
8. I practice watching movies, thet its something that I do all the time, also I listen music in English almost all the time, and I play allot in lyrics training because I like to know what they say.
9. Yes, I worked on my plan, I think that I don’t write the third personal plan, but this is a tool that help me a lot to learn more and more things, because i enjoy to learn more English, I really like this language.
10. Yes, I worked in almost all of them, the activities that I didn’t upload its because I don’t have many time in this moment, and I try to do it but I feel tired in the moment that I arrive home and I just want to rest.
11. I worked, not to much and in this part I feel bad whit my teammates because I feel like I didn’t do anything but I try to learn and know a bit more about the company and the things that we are doing and I try to help in something that I can.
12. I feel really happy, this is the fourth time that I signed in the subject and I feel happy to go to class, because it is interactive and not only theory but exercises and I have a great time in class.
13. I enjoy the course, I feel that I learn for myself in some things because the teacher give me the tools but is my responsibility to search and learn more, and I like the challenges and in this moment I feel that this course is a challenge for my, for be the best, I feel that the methodology is good, make me want more.

The listening still being a weakness for me, and my pronunciation, don’t help me so much, I’m watching some series, and listening music to improve in those things, I’ve done it, but I can get more

Yes, I use some of the grammatical structures, not all, but I’m trying to apply all.

Ohh yes, now I can understand some words of songs, than never before, that is a very good news for me, and it motivates me to keep moving .

The synonyms help me to express myself, and when I’m alone, I talk to myself to remember some words, and learn it, I recommend it, it is very useful.
Have you advanced in your Reading? How do you read now?
Yes, now, my reading is more fluid, and I can read faster than before, and the new words, help me to understand a lot more.
Has your writing improved? Have you done the proposed writing exercises in the blog? Have you corrected them after I give you feedback?
Those exercises in the blog was very useful to improve in my writing, and the feedback is the best way to improve with help, without scolding.

As I said before, I talk with myself, to listen music, read something, and watch series.

The PPW was the first step on my improving, the tools, that you give us to make that work, become a very important support for me, and because of it, I found more ways to improve.

Yes, the methodology of the blog is very interesting for students, and I am not the exception, you must to keep doing this, because, it helps a lot to the students.

The project is the way to project the English, to our lives, and our careers, that helps to us to see applications of this course by side of our professions.
How do you feel in this course?
Very fine, although teacher make us a lot of bullying, but, is one of the best things, because the classes become very fun, and that thing contributes to a good atmosphere and that provides a good place to study.
What do you think about this course, about the teacher’s methodology?
The teacher is crazy, but we love her as is, and her methodology to give the course her behavior, the course is the best tool to improve our English level.

ResponderEliminar1.Yes, I know that my main strengths are the listening and the speaking, that´s because I use to watch a lot of series in English, which improves a lot these two strengths.
2.Yes, I have seen that I have weaknesses specially in grammar, vocabulary and writing, I know this because sometimes when I am trying to say an expression I don´t know the vocabulary of what I want to say, talking about the grammar I have seen that I have forgotten a lot of the grammar topics that I already knew, about writing is the same thing, I have forgotten how to write some words. I know that I can improve this skills, writing my own dictionary to learn more vocabulary and trying to remember the grammar topics and the words that I cannot remember.
3.Yes, I have learnt more about the present perfect, I already know about it, but I forgot a lot of rules, I remembered about the embedded questions too, know the important things is to keep practicing these topics. I have studied the grammar topics in the blog
4.Yes, especially about the regular verbs pronunciation in pass, now I know how to pronounce them, then now I know how to listen them better than before.
5.Yes, when I don’t know the words, I try to think about a way to explain them, at the same time trying to make myself understandable to the other people.
6.Yes, we have studied a little about pronunciation, for example the pronunciation of regular verbs in pass, I didn´t know that before and that is truly important for reading and sometimes we read paragraphs in groups, learning together how to read well.
7.Yes, as I say before this is one of my weaknesses, I think with help of the practice that we have done, I have improve it a Little, but I need to practice so much to have a good level.
8.Yes, the first weeks I do a lot of things, I watched series in English, I lend a national geographic book in the languages center, I try to write the lyrics of a song and I write my own dictionary, the second and the third weeks, I have done all the activities of the class, I have kept writing my dictionary and I have watched a lot of series, but I will try to keep doing all the things that I did the first week, that will help me to learn more.
9.Yes, specially the first week, the lasts weeks I have been watching the series and writing my dictionary, but I have stopped the other activities; I will try to do them again.

I think the blog activities are interesting and I truly like a lot languages, that’s why I enjoy it.
11.Yes, I have worked in my project, I think that is very interesting, especially because we will have to do an internship someday, this will prepare us when that day comes. It is very good because we have learnt how to write in a formal way, that will be pretty useful.
12.I feel pretty good, because this course has helped me to remembered things that I knew but I forgot and I have learnt new topics too.
I also feel very good because the classmates are very good people and some of them know a lot, I can learn a lot of their knowledge.
13.I think that is a very good course, the teacher methodology is pretty good as well, she uses the blog as a very good strategy and she posted a lot of pages where we can improve our English skills easily. In class, we do a lot of good activities too.

Yes, I know my English skills because I was practicing with the blog activities and it made me know what are recognizing what activities I did faster and easier.
2. Do you know what you are weak at? Explain how you know that and how you think you can improve your English skills (strategies you can implement).
I know my weaknesses are the listening, vocabulary and pronunciation I can improve it practicing with strategies like reading English texts and write the unknown words and investigate their meaning (vocabulary), watching movies in English with and without closed caption (pronunciation and listening)
3. Do you understand and use now more grammatical structures than before you started this course? Have you studied the grammar topics proposed in the blog?
Yes, I’ve studied some of the grammar topics proposed in the blog, for example the pages: Ego4u and “English page”.
4. Has your listening comprehension improved, do you understand more now than before?
Yes my listening compression has improved and I see that when I watch movies or videos in you tube in English son times I understand all that the people says without reading the subs.
5. Do you find ways to express yourself orally even if you don’t know all the words? Which are those ways?
I need to improve that, when I have to speak in English, some time I get so nervous and I can’t find the word I want to say.

I think the reading and reading compression are my best English skills and after begging the course that skills has improved even more, I can read more flowed and understanding almost all the text.

This is the skill that ménos I had improved ’Couse I need to know more vocabulary to write longer texts and menos monótonos but I think I improved in the way to write with the correct logical and grammatical way.

Yes, when I can play videogames, I play it in English and when online games I always play with American people and I don’t know how but I always understand that they are trying to say to me in the chat or for TeamSpeak, I practice listening and pronunciation watching series in English like the walking death and for the writing practice sometimes I write what I did in the day I read it and then I break the paper.

I only worked in one week I need to do it again.

Yes and I think are so good because we can practice English and learn something’s like the cover letter and the thing related with the project and internship that will be so useful in the future.

R/. My skills in English are mainly writing and reading. I know that because it is easy for me to understand a reading or create some text.

R/. My weak is listening and speaking. I know that because it is very difficult for me to understand when somebody is speaking or a video or a movie. Generally I understand little that they say. I think that it is possible to improve my English if I study very much and I practice dairy the language, for example listening to music, watching movies in English or speaking with somebody that dominate the language.
3. Do you understand and use now more grammatical structures than before you started this course? Have you studied the grammar topics proposed in the blog?
R/. Actually, I think that when I was in Blendex, I used more grammatical structures that in this moment, because the methodology was more different. However, I have studied the topics proposed in the blog and understand them.
4. Has your listening comprehension improved, do you understand more now than before?
R/. Being honest, my listening comprehension has not improved much, this always have been a fight for me.
5. Do you find ways to express yourself orally even if you don’t know all the words? Which are those ways?
R/. When I don’t know all the words, I try to replace some words with others or to express the same of other way, like using examples.
6. Have you advanced in your Reading? How do you read now?
R/. My reading has advanced, not only with the learning of the course but because in my career I have to read very much documents in English.

R/. My writing has improved. I have done the writing exercises proposed in the blog and although sometimes I write little, I try to write well. I still have not corrected my cover letter.

R/. Yes, I practiced English outside of class; I explain to my boyfriend grammar topics, I speak with him. Also, I practice in lyricstrainig, in Duolingo and others web pages.

R/. Yes, I have worked in my Personal Plan of work and this has been productive for me.

R/. Yes, I have work in the activities proposed in the blog because I consider that this is important to complete the learning of the class.

R/. Yes, I worked in my project, however I consider that the work has not been exactly the expected because we have not done a true teamwork, that is why this activity has not liked much.

R/. I feel good in this course, although I am not the most participatory of group.

ResponderEliminarI think my English skills are writing and reading. I know that because when I am reading or writing in English I feel comfortable than when I am speaking or listening. Currently I can read some geology papers or chapters of geology books and I can understand the main ideas but I often have to look for some unknown words.

My biggest weakness is speaking English. I don’t know but I feel my mind is thinking in English but my mouth don’t say the words I think. I know I have to improve my pronunciation so I’m going to practice more and I will do my best.

Yes, I do. I’ve studied the grammar topics and I’ve made the task proposed in the blog. I feel I now understand better than before but I have to practice more because I know if I don’t practice I will forget it soon.

Yes, I do. I definitely understand much better than before. On Monday I was watching a TV series but there aren’t Spanish or English subtitles. So I had to watch the TV series without subtitles but I felt so happy because I understood the most part.

No, I don’t. When I don’t have to speak my mind is thinking in English and I find the words to say I want to say. But when I really need to speak I don’t find the words to say I want to say. It makes feel so angry and confused.

Yes, I do. I think my best skill is my reading.

Yes, I often do. But sometimes I forget I have homework. I’ve corrected my mistakes after feedback.

Yes, I do. I try to practice English every day. I listen music in English every day. I watch a TV series or movie once or twice a week and I have to read a Geology paper (in English) once a week. I really try to improve my English although sometimes I forget to do the task proposed in the blog.

Yes, I do. I learned to organize my time for study English and I’ve can do funny activities. I learned vocabulary, some grammar topics.

Mis debilidades son el vocabulario y la gramática. He tratado de mejorar realizando las actividades propuestas en el blog y algunas adicionales, pero en ocasiones por falta de tiempo ha sido difícil.

In this course i felt the need to learn the language, it’s difficult because i dont understand and i don’t know the basic of the language, I’m getting better at doing the activities and tasks of the blog, I’m getting a little more and I’m practicing to improve and understand the language.

Entiendo mucho más ahora que antes ya que he mejorado mi conocimiento de vocabulario y gracias a la vocalización tanto de la profesora como de algunos compañeros es fácil entender, pero aun así los videos y las grabaciones que se presentan durante algunas clases no son fáciles de entender.

No, en cuanto a la expresión oral considero que no tengo los conocimientos suficientes para expresarme fácilmente.

Si, considero que he avanzado en la lectura porque a pesar que tengo debilidades en mi vocabulario ya logro relacionar las palabras con el contexto de la lectura

He practicado la escritura pero me demoro demasiado redactando un pequeño párrafo en inglés, He hecho la mayoría de los ejercicios propuestos en el blog y he mirado las correcciones pero aun no las he realizado.

Fuera de clase he practicado con una aplicación en el celular (doulingo) y he asistido con una de las compañeras del curso casi todos los lunes a las sala de recursos para hacer ejercicios de gramática.

Si, he trabajado en mi plan personal de estudio y si ha sido útil porque con este practico con mayor frecuencia el idioma.

Si he realizado las actividades pero hay algunas sobre todo las de escucha y gramática que son difíciles.

My skill are my listening, my speaking and my reading because I can understand when somebody is speaking and they understand what I`m saying, when I`m reading a book I can understand it

I`m weak at writing because sometimes I forget how to write some words and to improve my writing the better strategy is to write a lot and correct the mistakes.

In this course I have remembered a lot of grammar that I study back on school so I`m more aware to identify them more easy.

I don’t know because I usually hear a lot of thing in English in my spare time like T.V shows and music so I’m use to hear somebody else talking in English.

When I don’t know how to say something in English I try to describe the object or the action or try to use a word with a similar meaning.

I’m reading more often than before, I usually read on a e-book so if I don’t understand a word I just tape on it and the e-book show me the meaning of the word.

Yes my writing has improve, I have done the exercises and I have done the corrections on them.

When I`m listening music because almost all of the music I hear is in English also watching series without subtitles or closed captions and reading.

I have been working on it doing activities for the personal plan I get more vocabulary and the right way to pronounce certain words

I have worked on the activities and I think they have very interesting topics to learn about like the cover letter because you have to use a lot of other topics to make it right (Simple past / Present perfect, embedded questions/indirect questions, formal writing style, etc.)

I feel good it is really a good experience, is interesting and funny.

The course have a good focus and the methodology the teacher`s use is very interesting
For me this methodology is better than the average methodology used for other teachers.

ResponderEliminarWell, i consider my english skills are speaking, listening and reading, and i know it cause my teacher told me, otherwise i wouldnt know.

Im terrible at grammar, im not able to identify grammar structures at all, so i guess that classes like those could help me to improve my grammar skills.

No, and i guess i´ve improve a little bit by studing the grammar topics in the blog.

Well, i guess im fine at that, so i consider that this class helped me to practice my knowledge and compare myself with other people. And solving the second question i guess that expressing myself without knowing the word it´s kind of a natural method that i use by understanding the structure of the statement and after it´s kind of a guessing process that help me to understand the meaning of the unknown word.

Well yeah, as i said before, im strong at reading, so i consider that this kind of exercise help to practice and not get rusty and also listen to other people opinion so i can raise my level.

I guess almost all the tv i see it´s in english, so its a constant listening exercise, and also helps a little bit to improve pronunciation.

Well, i guess i work on something all the time but i forget to write it, so it´s kind of an habit for me but im getting used to write down my progress.

Well, i guess i answered almost all the exercises, and as i said, this is kind of a practice that improve my knowledge

1. I know my english skills, there are: I am good in listening I almost everytime understand waht the people is trying to say me. I would like to say that I am good in speaking but I make a lot of mistakes because I dont think the ideas before I say it. I have the facility to think in english, I realised this when i started to talk in my mind in english. I am with my knowlege of the lenguaje. In adition, I am good in Reading too, because I can understand what almos every text is about.

I am bad in speaking, I am always saying things without sense and it is because I don’t think the ideas before I say it , I am think that the only way to fix it is being intelligent to talk, and talking more every day (with the people arrow me).And I am (the worst) very bad in orthography and grammar, I even don’t know some word spelling because I learned it listening and I don’t know either how are the structure of some kind of phrases, The best way to correct this reading a lot and writing a lot in English, I am trying to do my best with that.
3. I use more grammatical structures and I have my bases structure more clear. But I haven’t been studying the grammar topics proposed in the blog links, but I would like to study it on vacation time.
4. I think I understand the same. I feel the classes are good for me, because the teacher always speak in English and in that way I can improve my listening skill and I don’t forget the English language

6. I don’t think so, maybe now I am more conscience in what I need to learn about the reading, that I try to focus in learn new English structures and how to use it in the real life situations.
7. Yes, my writing improve. Now I write with clearer ideas and better grammar. I did almost all the writing activities in the blog but I don’t correct it after the teacher gives me the feedback. I am a little forgettable about that topic

ResponderEliminar-I consider my English skills are listening and reading. I know it because I understand when somebody speak in English, and I understand the things that I read.

-I´m terrible in speaking, when I start to speak with another person I say things that have a lot of mistakes, because I don´t remember how I can say any word and I forget everything. This class is an excellent strategie for improve my speaking.

-No, and no.

-I think that I have a good listening, this class helped me to practice more the pronunciation because the teacher always speaks in English.

-No, really I forget everything when I start to speak. I always ask to the teacher how I can say the word that I need, I love ask when I don´t know.

-Oh, yes. At the moment I´m reading “Pride and prejudice” and I really hate it. I think that I´m well reading, but this book is very difficult to read. After read the same chapters many times, I can understand all the history and already I hate it a little less.

- Yes, a little, but yes. I did almost all the activities, and the activities that I do are well.

-I try to practice 3 or more hours at the week, sometimes I watch movies and tv shows in English. And I like to use lyrics training when I have time, is funny.

Actually, my english level is limited, i aproved the levels (2 and 3) in the 2010, when i begun to study mi career, and since that year i don´t study English, but i remeber vocavullary, the listening, the writting because the music help me to remember. however in this course i practice and i work to recover my level. with every exercises, or activity
2. I think that my weakness is the writing and grammatical , because I don´t remember the structural of sentences, some mistakes, generally are auxilliars adverbs i.e I think that the best form to improve this defect , is to do exercises and study every days of week.
3. Yes, some topics is explained in the blog of exellent form, I have studied the grammar topics in the blog.
4. Yes. When I listened music I understand the lyrics, i think that this is the easy level, when i practice the listen using a serie as Vampire Diaries or the Game of thrones I understand that if i want learn i must practice a full day. and that i dont know nothing, i start again :(

6. Yes i practice with two courses in this semester i must read to participate in the welding and materials courses because the books, and task are in English.

La metodología es buena, creo que de los tres niveles que he mirado en la U, tú has sido la más comprometida con nuestro aprendizaje, por otra parte me pareció chévere que tuvieras en cuenta que no todos tenemos el mismo nivel, debido a que vamos en semestres avanzados nos descontinuamos mucho con el inglés, o no contamos con el tiempo o la plata para un curso más formal.
Creo que no sobra decirte que las actividades son muy amenas. El haz hecho del blog una herramienta muy útil, por la calidad de información que podemos encontrar, y bueno a aprovecharte estas semanas que quedan.
