In search of an internship
Type of project: Role-play Applying for an Internship
Purpose: At the end of this project, students will be able to apply for an internship and develop a project proposal.
Situation: Students will apply for an internship in a national or international company. Students will write their internship resume objective or cover letter and will develop a project proposal for their companies.
Audience: students and teachers of the university
Objectives:
● Gather information from reliable sources like reviewed articles, scholarly books, web pages associated with governments or universities, or scientific studies.
● Use vocabulary related to a specific topic from their areas of study such as modern design issues, nature into architecture, racial inequality, among other topics.
● Analyze these topics by describing their context, evaluating facts and summarizing information about them.
● Write an internship resume objective or cover letter justifying why they are motivated to do their internship in the selected company
● Prepare a project proposal, orally and in a written way, based on the company needs
Step 1:
In class, students discuss their academic interest or projects trying to find common interests. Students organize small groups (3 to 4 students) to work together on this project.
Guided questions:
What do you study?
What are your areas of interest in your major?
Where would you like to do your internship?
Step 2:
1. Students look for reliable information about the selected companies and prepare a short presentation about them. This presentation should include a company profile.
2. Students write their cover letters.
3. Students prepare themselves to have an interview
Oral task:
Role play: one group is interviewed by another group that will be the selection committee. They will talk about the company, their background and their motivation to do their internship there.
4. Students learn more about the projects the company has and develop their own project
- Students read articles related to the chosen topic and write a project proposal about it.
- Students use graphic organizers to organize the collected information and write their project for the company.
Step 3:
Students present their projects to the selection committee.
Written project
Students will design a website (blog, wiki or any other free web site) to upload all the information they will work on class for their projects.
Task:
Create your blog or website per group and post the address in comments

ResponderEliminarhi teacher, good afternoon, excúseme pleace, I had been unable to go to class because I was in Segovia, in the mine, one or two times at month, i have to visit the production center and the machines, I have to stay one or two weeks, because the mine is away and leave everything well, the rest of times my brother monitors the business. i`ll catch up in backward activities, thank you.
